PROJECT OVERVIEW
Digitally transforming the current paper-based ESG questionnaire into an interactive user interface, modeled on the existing digital version used by Synaptic Software Ltd. These ESG questionnaires help advisers assess clients' investment preferences, guiding them toward companies that drive positive societal impact.
WHY ESG?
Ethical fact-finding plays a vital role for-
-
Financial investors, enabling them to screen out companies with potentially harmful practices that could lead to financial risk. This process supports better long-term financial outcomes, fosters responsible investment, and aligns with sustainable values.
-
Financial advisers, who rely on this information to align client preferences with appropriate investment portfolios.
Ultimately, ethical investing contributes to broader societal goals—such as achieving a net-zero carbon economy by 2050—and reflects a growing awareness spurred by the post-pandemic shift in global priorities.
CURRENT ISSUE
The current method for synaptic to fact find is by sending over questionnaires forms in pdf format via email which is not convenient or efficient.

CONCLUSION
The project was delivered within a tight deadline, which required rapid decision-making, effective time management, and adaptability. Despite the pressure, it provided valuable experience in maintaining focus, managing competing priorities, and producing high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT WOULD I DO DIFFENENTY
Given more time to complete the project, I would have approached several areas differently.
First, I would involve users early in the digital transformation process to ensure the new flow closely aligns with the familiar paper-based experience. I’d focus on identifying usability challenges—such as confusing instructions or layouts that may not translate well for those used to physical forms. Including a diverse range of users, especially those with lower digital confidence, would help ensure the design feels intuitive and accessible. I would also validate that critical interactions, like form completion and navigation, transition seamlessly from paper to screen without introducing complexity. Finally, I’d adopt an iterative refinement process, incorporating user feedback to continually improve clarity, accessibility, and responsiveness across various devices."
